Max Lurie – IMCS Guide

My first climbing experience, as a teenager, was with Outward Bound in Vedauwoo, Wyoming. I was hooked.  Upon returning to New England, I began exploring the many cliffs of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.  I climbed avidly throughout college where my studies had taken me to places such as Alaska, Iceland and Peru.  My passion for climbing extends through all the different disciplines, but I am mostly focused on ice/mixed climbing and alpinism.  I am convinced that this area of New Hampshire offers the best training grounds for serious winter climbers.  I love guiding in New England because of the wide variety of terrain and conditions.
