Have
you ever dreamed of skiing off the groomed slopes? Have
you ever gazed at the snow covered slopes of Mt. Washington and wished
you could ski the untouched snow? This is the perfect preparation
for more adventurous undertakings in the major mountain ranges of
the world, such as the Haute Route in Europe. This winter and spring
join IMCS for our adventure-filled ski mountaineering courses and
guided day trips. Call for dates because conditions are everything.
Our ski mountaineering programs typically run from late March to middle
May. |
| IMCS guides Brad White,
Steve Dupuis and Zeb Jakub are all very experienced backcountry skiers
with many years of combined experience on the slopes of Mt. Washington
and the Presidential Range. Whether you want alpine, randonee, telemark
or snowboard vertical fun these guys can handle the assignment. |
| Three-Day
Ski Mountaineering Course |

| For advanced/expert skiers with no previous mountaineering
experience. We will cover basic mountaineering skills including the
use of ice axe, crampon technique, avalanche awareness and roped-descent
techniques. We will finish with a ski descent of Mt. Washington. |

Backcountry Ski Camp |
|
A
two-day course for skiers with some previous winter climbing experience.
Learn more serious ski mountaineering skills such as the use of skins,
avalanche awareness and steep terrain descent.
Day One: Set up a basecamp on Mt. Washington with technical
mountaineering instruction in the afternoon.
Day Two: Ski descent(s), break camp and return to IME |

Guided Backcountry Tours
& Descents of Mt. Washington |

Choose a one-day guided trip and enjoy many different options adaptable to your ability.
(You must be an advanced downhill skier.)
Ascend Mt. Washington, New England's highest peak, or any of the other excellent locations for winter and spring skiing located throuhgiout the Presidential Range. After climbing, we will descend into one of the many gullies and ravines. |
