Trek to the base of the eighth tallest Mountain in the world
October 1 Through October 27, 2011
Join Rick Wilcox and Celia Wilcox for an exciting remote trek in Nepal's Northeastern region. This is the classic
Day 1 Group will meet at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for our 11:00 PM flight to Bangkok Thailand.
Day 2 Our flight will take us across the International Date Line
Day 3 We will arrive in Bangkok and transfer to a 10:00 Am flight to Katmandu. We will arrive at approximately noon.
Day 4 Rest Day, we will relax and take a tour of the city
Day 5 We will long drive on the famous Pokhara Highway to Gokha.
Day 6 Rest day, We will relax and take in the sites of the ancient city of Gorkha
Day 7 We will drive to Khanchowk, then hike to Arughat Bazaar, 5 hours
Day 8 Hike to Soti Khola, 5 hours
We follow the country path surrounded by rice paddies and picturesque hamlets. After climbing briefly to Kyoropani, we descend to the river and spend the night at the Soti Khola.
Day 9 Hike to Machhi Khola, 5 hours
Here the country changes, the valley narrows and the trail is cut into the steep valley side, which is densely forested. We pass a number of small villages until we reach a widening of the valley and view the terraced farmland of the village of Lapu besi. We descend once again to the wide, sandy riverbed and follow a path, which runs below the steep, craggy valley side to Macha Khaola.

Day 11 Hike to Ngyak, 7 hours
Day 12 Hike to Ghap, 4.5 hours
Day 13 Hike to Lho, 6 hours
Day 14 Hike to Sama Gaon, 7 hours
Day 15 Hike to Larkya Bazaar, 4 hours
Day 16 Hike to Dharmashala, 4 hours
Day 17 Hike to Bimtang, 7 hours
Day 18 Hike to Tilje 7 hours
Day 19 Hike to Tal 4 hours
Day 20 Hike to Jaget, 4 hours
Day 21 Hike to Bahun Danda, 4 hours
Day 22 Huke to Besishar, 6 hours
Day 23 Drive to Pokhara
Day 24 Rest day in Pokhara
Day 25 Fly to Katmandu
Day 26 Rest Day, sightseeing and shopping in Katmandu
