1 Day Winter Mountaineering Skills
This is the perfect course for those looking to expand your 3 season hiking and climbing skills. This introductory Mountaineering course will teach you how to dress for winter, how to pack and select the proper gear. You will learn how to move efficiently in winter boots and crampons, and how to climb low to moderate angled snow and ice terrain.
This is a great introduction to the skills needed for above treeline travel and  winter mountaineering. No previous climbing experience is required for registration but participants should be prepared for a challenging day. The day will be spent outdoors learning and practicing crampon, ice axe, rope skills, and self arrest.

This course meets at 8:30 AM weekdays and 8:00 AM weekends and Holidays.

For a complete Experience try our Two Day Mountaineering Skills Program, this combines our 1 Day Winter Mountaineering Skills Course and our single day ascent of Mount Washington.

Our 3 Day Basic Mountaineering Course includes a day of Basic Mountaineering Instruction, a second day of winter skills and a camping overnight with an ascent of Mt Washington on the third Day. Click Here for more details.

The Winter Camping Skills Course spends the weekend in a beautiful back country location while learning basic winter travel techniques and low impact winter camping skills.

For an outstanding winter climbing experience, our Single Day Ascent of Mount Washington will bring you to the top of the Northeast and home to the World's Worst Weather. Find out more here.
