One of country's oldest and most trusted Climbing Schools Ice Climbing, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering in New Hampshire's White Mountains. For over 30 years we have been guiding folks and teaching them the skills to be safe and proficient in the mountains. Mount Washington is our training ground, home of the 'World's Worst Weather'. And with world class climbing locations such as Cathedral Ledge, Whitehorse Ledge, the Frankenstein Cliffs and Cannon Cliff we can teach you the skills you need to enjoy the mountains for years to come.
There are a lot of choices out there... Since Rock and Ice Climbing have become so popular, there are lots of so called 'Guides' and 'Climbing Schools' out there with flashy websites. But, you should remember... whoever you choose has your life in their hands. Do they have over 35 years of guiding experience both here in the White Mountains and around the world? Do they have AMGA trained and Certified Guides? Are their guides trained in first aid and rescue techniques? Are they insured? Do they have the necessary permits to guide on State and Federal lands? Do they have a knowledgeable climbing shop available for those "essential purchases" on site? Do they provide modern technical gear needed for your course that is included in course cost, with a large selection to guarantee it? Do they have a rental department that allows you to try before you buy? We do! IMCS has guides with up to 40 years of climbing experience and some that have guided Mt. Everest. AMGA Single Pitch Course and Exam
This program is designed to enable instructors to "proficiently facilitate and instruct the sport of rock climbing in a single pitch setting." This program is for current, active rock climbers that have a real desire to teach rock climbing to novices in a single pitch or top rope enviorment. MORE HERE

Climbs and Expeditions Our climbs and Expeditions are opportunities to use the skills we learned and practiced here in the White Mountain's in the greater ranges of the world. The twenty-plus years of outfitting and guiding we have done on these trips goes a long toward the safety and quality of your experience. Besides these scheduled trips we also run privately arranged trips for groups, climbing partners and family members. We can design trekking and climbing itineraries for people of all abilities and experience level.
