Jim Surette, 34, hails from North Conway, New Hampshire,
which is a great town to turn a young boy into one of the US's most
well rounded climbers. New Hampshire had it all when Jim was coming
of age: a history of hard, necky traditional climbing and lots of
rock and ice. Introduced to climbing at age 14 he soon became one
of the Eighty's new wunderkind climbing at unbelievable new standards.
Jim started new routing at 16 and shortly established New Hampshire's
first 5.13, Liquid Sky, which checks in at 5.13c.
Properly schooled in the trade, Jim ventured forth bagging routes
around the world. Jim is a classic Clark Kent character sans glasses,
climbing rock, ice and alpine routes in Europe, Asia, Canada, Peru
and Patagonia. From putting up 5.13d sport routes in Rifle to climbing
hard alpine routes in exotic places, he gets around.

Fowler
Jim works and travels extensively as a movie camera operator and
sound tech. He participated in filming Lynn Hill's first free ascent
of the Nose, The North Face Great Trango Expedition, and a couple
of Eco Challenge races. In the last two years alone, his work has
taken him to Alaska, Argentina, Pakistan, Borneo, and Iceland.
