Trip Itinerary  
Please note that this itinerary is a guideline only. Although every effort will be made to adhere to it, unforeseen circumstances may force changes to be made at the last moment. Please be prepared to be flexible when necessary.
Day Activity
1 Leave the city of your choice and fly to Los Angeles, CA for an overnight at the Sheraton Hotel.
2 Depart Los Angeles aboard Thai Airlines to Bangkok.
3 Arrive in Thailand losing a day crossing the International Date Line. Overnight in the Amari Hotel.
4 Fly from Bangkok to Kathmandu where we will be picked up by our agent and outfitter Urgen Sherpa. Transport to the Hotel Thamel.
5 Free day in Kathmandu. Dinner out with views of nightlife.
6 Free day in Kathmandu. Dinner on the roof at Rum Doodle Airfield in Hongde. Photo by Rick Wilcox (click for larger image)
7 Morning flight to Hongde. Spend first night at Julu Peak Guesthouse at 10,800 feet.
8 Hike short distance to camp at Nepal Mountaineering Association facility between Hongde and Manang. Take a short hike in the area..
9 From camp take a short hike up the valley or to Manang or across the valley into the Chulu Range. Spend night at NMA campsite.
10 Another acclimatization hike in the area and spend another night at NMA campsite.
11 Another acclimatization hike in the area and spend 4th another night at NMA campsite.
12 Move to Annapurna IV Base Camp. It is an all day approach hike and involves about 4,200 feet of elevation gain.
13 Rest Day in Base Camp. Puja ceremony to bless the climb and protect the climbers and staff. Performed by one of the Sherpas that is trained as a lama.
14 Climb Annapurna IV. Hike and carry light load to Camp I. To reach Camp 1 we will cross a large moraine before reaching the rock section. After crossing the moraine we will ascend a gully to get to the bottom of the rock. Then we'll break out the ascenders and clip into the fixed lines to reach Camp 1. We will return to Base Camp
15 Climb Annapurna IV. Rest day in basecamp. Explore, hike and enjoy the magnificent views in the area. Just above Base Camp is a beautiful lake surrounded by high moraines.
16 Climb Annapurna IV. Carry to Camp I (17,000ft / 5,183m). Spend the night at Camp 1.
17 Climb Annapurna IV. Rest day Camp 1.
18 Climb Annapurna IV. Carry to Camp 2 and return to sleep at Camp 1.
19 Climb Annapurna IV. Carry final load to Camp 2 and sleep at Camp 2.

28 Clean Camp I and return to Base Camp
29 Rest Base Camp and organize gear. Return to Hongde
30 Fly from Hongde to Kathmandu  
31 Rest day and shopping in Kathmandu  
32 Rest day and more shopping in Kathmandu. Dinnout
33 Fly to Bangkok  
34 Fly to Los Angeles, CA  
35 Arrive Home!
