Cho Oyu Adventure Trek to Basecamp
April 8 Meet at JFK Airport in New York for a noon departure on a
17.5-hour flight to Bangkok (BBK). You will be allowed (2) thirty-kilo bags.
April 9-10 Fly non stop to Bangkok, Thailand arriving at 4:00pm. Stay overnight at the luxurious Amari Hotel.
April 11 Fly BBK to Kathmandu (KTM). Our outfitter, Urgen Sherpa, will meet us at the airport and transport us to the Hotel Thamel. The Hotel Thamel is conveniently located in the heart of the Thamel shopping district in Kathmandu and is a quiet place to rest and relax.
April 12 Rest Day in Kathmandu. A chance for you to sort through your gear, stretch, relax and browse the Thamel district some more.  
April 13 Rest Day in Kathmandu. A chance for you to sort through your gear, stretch, relax and browse the Thamel district some more. Meeting day for expedition leaders. Get Visa's for China all in order.
April 14 Fly South China Air to Lhasa.
April 15 Tour the Potala Palace, the ex-home of the Dalai Lama, as well as other monasteries in Lhasa.
April 16 Leave Lhasa and drive in Jeeps to Gyantse. Cross passes up to 17,000 feet. Overnight in a hotel.  
April 17 Jeep ride to Shigatse. Overnight in a hotel.
April 18 Jeep ride to Tingri and overnight in the Snow Leopard hotel.
April 19 Jeep ride to Cho Oyu Base Camp at 16,500 feet.
April 20 Rest day in Cho Oyu Base Camp
April 21 Hike to Mid Camp, which is half-way to Cho Oyu Advanced Base Camp.
April 22 Hike to Cho Oyu Advanced Base Camp at 18,500 feet which will be the climbing team's home for the next few weeks. After arriving to Cho Oyu Advanced Base Camp we will set up a comfortable Base Camp. Trekkers can spend a maximum of two nights at Advanced Base Camp.
April 23 Trekkers spend time at Advanced Base Camp.
April 24 Trekkers return to Base Camp. 
April 25 Trekkers return to Tingri.
April 26 Getting from Tingri to Kathmandu requires a long day of travel. We will follow the famous Friendship Highway to the border city of Zhangmu. Here we will cross over into Nepal. Quite an experience but our experienced crew will get us through the bureaucratic mess. We should reach the Hotel Thame in Kathmandu late the same day as we leave Tingri. We should be back in KTM by April 26th at the latest.
April 27 Rest, recuperate and pack for return home in Kathmandu.
Shop till you drop.
April 28 Fly from KTM to BBK.
April 29 Fly from BBK to USA.
April 30 Return Home!

Optional trips to extend your trek to a fourth week away from home would include a trip to Royal Chitwan National Park in the jungle of southern Nepal or a trip to the beaches in southern Thailand.
