| Join the members of the 2006 American Cho-Oyu Expedition as they prepare to climb the 6th highest peak in the world. This 23 day trip will include a 10-day trek into the Khumbu Valley on the South side of Cho-Oyu and Everest. We will have time to explore the exciting village of Namche Bazar, Khumjung, where Sir Edmund Hillary opened a school for Sherpa children, Khumde, home of the hospital opened by the Hillary Foundation, Tyangbeche, site of a very important monastery, as well as other villages and monasteries along the way. |
| After this acclimatization trek you will fly back to Kathmandu and on to Lhasa, Tibet where you will spend a day discovering this ancient city. Jeeps will wisk you away from Lhasa and on to Cho-Oyu base camp at 17,000' on the Tibetan Plateau. A few days will be spent here helping the team settle into their new home and then you will jeep back to Kathmandu. Of course we have built in a few shopping days in Kathmandu before you return to the USA. |
